Echinocereus dasyacanthus - San Miguel county, NM

Echinocereus dasyacanthus from San Miguel county, NM are one of the most cold hardy locations. Plants are harder to establish in my opinion but this species is not for the beginner. Plants should all have yellow flowers that fade to orange. Usually 3 year old plants flower. These are 18 months old and should take off. These have taken -17F in our garden but really this plant is more like a dry zone 6 plant.
