Agave glomerulifera
Agave glomerulifera has proven to be hardy in Colorado taking -17F on a few occasions. This seed was purchased years ago and supposedly comes fromthe Guadalupe Mts in Texas. However, Agave glomerulifera is a natural occuring hybrid between Agave havardiana and Agave lechuguilla. The problem is there are no Agave havardiana in this area. So I really just suspect these to be Agave gracilipes. These have proven to get quite large reaching 36" accross and 30" tall. Agave gracilipes is a natural occuring hybrid between Agave neomexicana and Agave lechuguilla.
I do not guarantee these in a zone 5 because everyones growing conditions are different but this would be a good trial plant to grow in your cold outdoor garden. Try to plant outdoor 90 days before 1st hard freeze.
