Agave utahensis fma eborispina - Providence
Agave utahensis forma eborispina has proven to be hardy in Colorado taking -22F on a few occasions. This particular form is from Providence ridge north of Las Vegas. Blooming plants have reached only 18" across and 8" tall, occasionaly clumping. This is one of the more common forms but it is a good plant to start with. Plants need to dry out quickly and this is probably the most challenging Agave species to grow.
I do not guarantee these in a zone 5/6/7 because everyones growing conditions are different but this would be a good trial plant to grow in your cold outdoor garden. Extreme drainage is required for this species. Try to plant outdoor 90 days before 1st hard freeze.
