Aloe aristata 9000ft High Elevation Form

Aloe aristata 9000ft High Elevation Form

Aloe aristata is one of the more reliably hardy Aloe coming from South Africa. The original plants of this clone were from 9000ft growing on cliffs. This plant has survived several winters in Colorado and is being grown in Denver and Pueblo, CO. Plants tend to die to the ground below -5F and come back from the roots, they survived -17F. Plants can get 18" across in 1 season and are prolific in the garden. These can also be grown in pots and will stay smaller once root-bound. Good drainage is required for these aloes. There are several species of aloe or aloe relatives that can take cold temperatures.

I do not guarantee these in a zone 5/6/7 because everyones growing conditions are different but this would be a good trial plant to grow in your cold outdoor garden. Try to plant outdoor 90 days before 1st hard freeze.
