Bergeranthus jamesii 'White form'
Bergeranthus jamesii is like if a succulent grass crossed with a dandelion. This is one of the easiest if not the easiest species of South African Succulent to grow. This white flowered form was developed and discovered by Panayoti Kelaidis. These have survived in our garden taking -17F and in Denver, Co they have been growing them for many years. These get a large tap root and can spread to 12" across. with extra water they will bloom throughout the warm seasons. People have even successfully grown them in Canadian gardens.
I do not guarantee these in a zone 5/6/7 because everyones growing conditions are different but this would be a good trial plant to grow in your cold outdoor garden. Try to plant outdoor 90 days before 1st hard freeze.
