Echinocereus viridiflorus Pueblo co., CO

Echinocereus viridiflorus aka the Green Pitaya or Hen and chicks can look quite different depending on where the plants come from. This seed was from a different part of Pueblo county where the plants have central spines. These plants tend to clump with age but are generally small stemmed plants hiding in grasses. The plants get green flowers that smell like lemons or citrus. This is one of the clumping locations for Echinocereus viridiflorus.

I do not guarantee these in a zone 5/6/7 because everyones growing conditions are different but this would be a good trial plant to grow in your cold outdoor garden. Try to plant outdoor 90 days before 1st hard freeze.
