Cylindropuntia davisii Tucumcari, NM 4000ft
Cylindropuntia davisii or Clubbed Cholla is a very spiny cholla that can get 4ft tall but is usually no more than 2ft. These are cold hardy in Colorado and can tolerate -22F or maybe more. The plants flower in June or July. This is from the furthest north location.
I do not guarantee these in a zone 5 because everyone's growing conditions are different but this would be a good trial plant to grow in your cold outdoor garden. Try to plant outdoor 90 days before 1st hard freeze.
