Cylindropuntia imbricata 'Walking Stick' Pueblo, CO
Cylindropuntia imbricata 'Walking Stick' is our native Tree Cholla or Walking Stick. The original plant is from Pueblo, Colorado. Plants should be zone 5 for cold hardiness as the area historically got to -25F but in summer reaches temperatures of 110F. This plant has performed well for us but is best if pruned at the base to encourage a strong upright growth. Plants generally bloom from May-July. Plants for sale are stem cuttings.
I do not guarantee these in a zone 5 because everyones growing conditions are different but this would be a good trial plant to grow in your cold outdoor garden. Try to plant outdoor 90 days before 1st hard freeze.
