Echinocereus dasyacanthus var. rectispinus

Echinocereus dasyacanthus var. rectispinus

Echinocereus dasyacanthus var. rectispinus is a mexican subspecies from lower elevation than the New Mexico forms. However it seems to handle moisture better and may even be more cold hardy. They definately handle the temperature swings of warm to cold better. Flowers open yellow and fade to orange or pinks. These are seeds out of garden and may not be 100% pure, this would only add to the cold hardiness i would think. Plants have taken -11F in our garden and may even be more cold hardy than that.
