Echinocereus engelmannii - Mescal Range, CA

Echinocereus engelmannii from Mescal Range, CA is a cold hardy form for us in Pueblo. We have had them survive several severe winters taking -17F. We have  good drainage and dry winters. Should be a good population for people to try in their gardens. Plants can be black or golden in color, in reference to spines. One thing I will say is that E. engelmannii can be a finicky species.
