Echinocereus engelmannii x Echinocereus fendleri
Echinocereus engelmannii x Echinocereus fendleri started out as echinocereus engelmannii from St. George, Utah. These plants were grown in our garden and hybridized with echinocereus fendleri in our garden. This would only increase the hardiness and water tolerance of this hybrid. Plants will have Magenta flowers and red fruit as both species have very similar flowers and fruit. But plants are definately interesting looking and im not sure if they will clump or stay solitary. Plants should be hardy to -10F or more as both plants have taken these temperatures in our dry garden. However these may have some cold wet tolerance due to echinocereus engelmanii, so im told.
