Echinocereus klapperi x E. reichenbachii

Echinocereus klapperi x E. reichenbachii

Echinocereus klapperi x E. reichenbachii has not flowered for me and we have a good number of them. They survived -11F in our garden this last winter and have not had a chance to test past this. Echinocereus klapperi is a small mexican claret cup species that blooms mid-summer with long flower tubes. I was able to catch a late out of sync E. reichenbachii blooming and crossed these plants. Even tho the seed came off of E. klapperi the plants look more like Echinocereus reichenbachii. Id expect some intermediate flowers and for this hybrid to eventually clump. Again try at your own risk.
