Echinocereus reichenbachii Kimble county, TX

Echinocereus reichenbachii from Kimble county have very white spines and are medium in height. This has proven to be one of the most cold hardy species of cactus. These plants pull themselves down and make a very small profile in winter time. 5" tall plants will be 1" tall in winter, which is just impressive. This form has taken -22F and several negative teen temperatures.

I do not guarantee these in a zone 5 because everyones growing conditions are different but this would be a good trial plant to grow in your cold outdoor garden. Try to plant outdoor 90 days before 1st hard freeze.
