Echinocereus triglochidiatus Carrizozo GIANT

Echinocereus triglochidiatus from near Carrizozo are basically a more cold hardy form of the famed 'White Sands' or Giant Claret Cup Cactus. The seed for these plants came from near Carrizozo, New Mexico. Plants can get 40" tall in the wild and are seriously giant. In the garden in a colder environment, expect them to only get about 24 to 30" tall unless you give it some protection along a house or boulder. These plants are very aggressive and less anemic than the typical White Sands plants. We had plants in our colorado garden take -17F with no damage. Red or Claret colored flowers appear in May to July and are Hummingbird Magnets.

Plants are in 2.5" pots and range from 2" to 1.5".
