Echinocereus triglochidiatus x E. fendleri
Echinocereus triglochidiatus x Echinocereus fendleri is a natural occuring hybrid near Taos, NM. We have been able to grow many hybrids from there and these are second generation hybrids so they should be way more uniform. They primarily solitary or 2 to 5 stems like Echinocereus fendleri. However they still get red flowers like E. trig but the size of E. fendleri. This plant has slowly become one of my favorite New Mexico hybrids. Plants have taken -22F and the parents are both very hardy. Seems to be fairly water tolerant. Try at your own risk but I have a good feeling about this hybrid. Plants pictured are what is available.
