Echinocereus viridiflorus Baca co., CO
Echinocereus viridiflorus aka the Green Pitaya or Hen and chicks can look quite different depending on where the plants come from. This seed was from Baca county where the plants can have multiple central spines and be yellow in color. Most of our seedlings came out with multiple spines and is one of the prettier plants when puffed up. The plants get green flowers that smell like lemons or citrus. This is one of the largest locations for typical Echinocereus viridiflorus.
Plants Pictured are what is for sale.
I do not guarantee these in a zone 5/6/7 because everyones growing conditions are different but this would be a good trial plant to grow in your cold outdoor garden. Try to plant outdoor 90 days before 1st hard freeze.
