Echinocereus viridiflorus Colorado Springs, CO

Echinocereus viridiflorus aka the Green Pitaya or Hen and chicks can look quite different depending on where the plants come from. This seed was from between Colorado Springs and Falcon on Hwy 24. This area has since been bulldozed. This is a very small form only reaching a few inches tall. The plants get green flowers that smell like lemons or citrus. This is one of the more typical looking locations for Echinocereus viridiflorus.
 
Plants are in 2.5" pots.
 
I do not guarantee these in a zone 5/6/7 because everyones growing conditions are different but this would be a good trial plant to grow in your cold outdoor garden. Try to plant outdoor 90 days before 1st hard freeze.
