Echinocereus russanthus var. fiehnii

Echinocereus viridiflorus forma fiehnii comes from Santa Clara Canyon in Mexico. This plant gets brown to yellow spines. Plants have taken -17F for us with no problems in Colorado. We are growing it in a well drained rock garden. This is just another plant in the ever growing Echinocereus viridiflorus/russanthus complex.

I do not guarantee these in a zone 5 because everyones growing conditions are different but this would be a good trial plant to grow in your cold outdoor garden. Try to plant outdoor 90 days before 1st hard freeze.
