Escobaria vivipara ssp. desertii 'BUOFLAMA'

Escobaria vivipara ssp. desertii 'BUOFLAMA'

Escobaria vivipara ssp. desertii 'BUOFLAMA' is a newer plant from Yavapai county, Arizona. For many years people thought this was a new species but after reviewing flowers and spination these plants belong under Escobaria vivipara ssp. desertii. BUOFLAMA if short for BUreau OF LAnd MAnagement where the original collection was made. These are a little more touchy when it comes to water, this in comparison to regular escobaria vivipara. These plants have taken -17F with no trouble and really show they are cold hardy like their relatives.

Plants are 50 cent sized or larger.

I do not guarantee these in a zone 5/6/7 because everyones growing conditions are different but this would be a good trial plant to grow in your cold outdoor garden. Try to plant outdoor 90 days before 1st hard freeze.
