Ferocactus acanthodes 'Coyote Springs'

Ferocactus acanthodes or Fire Barrel - This seed was from near Coyote Springs in the Arrow Canyon Range, Nevada. Plants have taken 0F or better with extreme dryness in winter. Good plants to try in colder climates. This population had a mixture of red and yellow spines. So far they lean towards red but time will tell. 
 
I will have some more cold hardy stock in late 2021 or early 2022. But really I have seen very little differrence from different locations.
 
I do not guarantee these in a zone 5/6/7 because everyones growing conditions are different but this would be a good trial plant to grow in your cold outdoor garden. Try to plant outdoor 90 days before 1st hard freeze.
