Ferocactus hamatacanthus 'Albuquerque'

Ferocactus hamatacanthus 'Albuquerque'

Ferocactus hamatacanthus 'Albuquerque' is from seed on a plant that has survived in Albuquerque for many years even taking -16F in 2011 with their extreme cold event. These have also done ok in our garden. These plants like having some filtered shade in summer. Radical drainage is key on these when planting in cold climates. Plants will get bowling ball sized at maturity in the colder climates.

I do not guarantee these in a zone 5/6/7 because everyones growing conditions are different but this would be a good trial plant to grow in your cold outdoor garden. Try to plant outdoor 90 days before 1st hard freeze.
