Ferocactus latispinus

Ferocactus latispinus - Devil's Tongue Cactus is a large cactus from Northern Mexico. This was seed from a friend. These are 2 year old plants from seed. Ferocactus latispinus has shown some cold hardiness when kept dry in winter taking down to 0F. Plants are really a zone 7 species but flower in winter so they are great in pots when the weather is down. Worth tryin in a Zone 6b. Have seen mixed results in Albuquerque.
 
I do not guarantee these in a zone 5/6/7 because everyones growing conditions are different but this would be a good trial plant to grow in your cold outdoor garden. Try to plant outdoor 90 days before 1st hard freeze.
