Lewisia cotyledon 'Sunset Mix'
Lewisia cotyledon 'Sunset mix' is a mix of hybrids between little plum and Lewisia cotyledon. These plants can take -25F atleast and can tolerate +105F. These have been found to be more drought tolerant than previously believed. As with all Lewisia they have edible roots and pretty flowers. These are ever-blooming with added moisture and bloom throught summer and will even bloom in winter with mild temperatures. This has become one of our favorites.
Lewisia is an American native named for Captain Meriwether Lewis. The Corp of Discovery (a.k.a. the Lewis & Clark expedition), commissioned by President Thomas Jefferson, collected the genus, called “bitterroot” by indigenous people, and brought it home for study.
