Mammillaria wrightii Santa Fe, NM 6200ft

Mammillaria wrightii or New Mexico Fish-hook cactus is a cold hardy species from central New Mexico. The seed for these came from Santa Fe, NM at 6200ft. These are a short lived cactus that tend to live around 6-10 years in the ground. In winter and a harsh summer plants partially bury themselves and pull downward into the soil. Flowering is in summer when monsoon moisture occurs will bring on a heavy series of flowers. In Colorado these plants have taken -22F and many negative teens. Plants are smaller than I normally sell so they are cheaper for this reason.

I do not guarantee these in a zone 5 because everyones growing conditions are different but this would be a good trial plant to grow in your cold outdoor garden. Try to plant outdoor 90 days before 1st hard freeze.
