Nolina greenei

Nolina greenei

Nolina greenei was at one point synonymous with Nolina texana. These plants are much more cold hardy then N. texana. The seed for this was collected in Pueblo, NM at 6000ft in elevation. Being that this is our sister town we were happy to grow this plant. These plants have taken -17F without issue and seem to enjoy fast draining soil. Be warned these are slow growing plants but once they get established and reach maturity they will flower every other year in the garden.

I do not guarantee these in a zone 5/6/7 because everyones growing conditions are different but this would be a good trial plant to grow in your cold outdoor garden. Try to plant outdoor 90 days before 1st hard freeze.
