Opuntia basilaris ssp. heillii - Factory Butte, UT

Opuntia basilaris ssp. heillii from Factory Butte, UT is a medium to smaller Beaver-tail Prickly Pear that has done the best in our garden. We have had this plant in our garden for 20 years, they have proven cold hardy taking -22F and -17F several times. Plants can get 12" tall and 2ft wide. Radical drainage is a must for this species, regardelss the form or subspecies.
 
Rooted pads in 3.5" pots.
 
I do not guarantee these in a zone 5/6 because everyones growing conditions are different but this would be a good trial plant to grow in your cold outdoor garden. Try to plant outdoor 90 days before 1st hard freeze.
