Opuntia fragilis Chaffee county, CO 9500ft

Opuntia fragilis from Chaffee county, CO is a typical spiny plant that can create dense mats. Plants are very cold hardy zone 4 in most environments. Provide good drainage and they may be more cold hardy. Plants for sale are a rooted cutting in a 3" pot. These plants almost always break in shipping so allow the stems to dry 10 days and plant with your rooted stem.

I do not guarantee these in a zone 4/5/6 because everyones growing conditions are different but this would be a good trial plant to grow in your cold outdoor garden. Try to plant outdoor 90 days before 1st hard freeze.
