Opuntia tortispina "Bear Claw"

Opuntia tortispina "Bear Claw"

Opuntia tortispina "Bear Claw" is a natural occuring hybrid with Opuntia polycantha and opuntia macrorhiza. Plants are commonly misidentified as opuntia phaecantha because it has brown spines. This particular clone gets large pads and has aggressive looking brown spines like a Bear Claw. These plants should be zone 4 plants in dry conditions. Should be able to take some winter moisture tho. Plants will have yellow flowers with red centers. The fruit are edible and taste quite good.

I do not guarantee the plants in zone 4/5/6 as every location varies.
