Stomatium resedolens (Syn: stomatium sp. Sutherlund)
Stomatium resedolens from Sutherland was previously being sold as Stoamtium suaveolens. Mr Steve Brack informed me of my error. The plants from this area are sometimes sold as Stomatium sp. Sutherlund. This plant has proven quite hardy n the garden and makes nice mats that rarely get larger than 7" across. This plant gets a large tuberous root and can really be nice looking. Like all the other stomatium in the genus they will bloom in the evening long into the night, they smell wonderful like some exotic candy. Plants have taken -7F with no signs of marks. My winters are dry compared to most but it is still a good plant to out. The plants available are seed grown and starter plants that should get you a decent jump on things. This species is definately slower than Stomatium mustellinum as far as growth goes.
I do not guarantee these in a zone 5/6/7 because everyones growing conditions are different but this would be a good trial plant to grow in your cold outdoor garden. Try to plant outdoor 90 days before 1st hard freeze.
