Yucca baccata var. Vespertina 6800ft

Yucca baccata var. Vespertina 6800ft

Yucca baccata var. vespertina or Western Banana Yucca is one of the most cold hardy species of Yucca. The seed for these plants came from Mountain Springs, NV. It was at 6800ft on a dolomite Limestone hillside with Gambel's Oak. Plants available are in 1 gallon pots. Larger plants are best to survive winter.

Good drainage is required for these plants to survive in a wetter climate. In the dry winters of Colorado these plants have taken -27F and -22F along with many negative teen temperatures.

I do not guarantee these in a zone 5/6/7 because everyones growing conditions are different but this would be a good trial plant to grow in your cold outdoor garden. Try to plant outdoor 90 days before 1st hard freeze.
