Yucca brevifolia 'Joshua Tree' Barstow form

Yucca brevifolia 'Joshua Tree' Barstow form

Yucca brevifolia  also known as the Joshua Tree. This is one of 3 forms that are grown by us, each exhibit very good cold hardiness. These have taken 0F without damage but were not tested below that temperature. Keeping plants on the dry side in winter is key. Radical drainage helps with this as well. The seed for this was location was collected on a ridgeline NW of Barstow, CA @3000ft. In the images you will notice that the Barstow plants are much larger and faster growing than the jaegeriana form from Mt Charleston. Both have their trade offs.

I do not guarantee these in a zone 5/6/7 because everyones growing conditions are different but this would be a good trial plant to grow in your cold outdoor garden. Try to plant outdoor 90 days before 1st hard freeze.
