Yucca harrimaniae San Luis, CO

Yucca harrimaniae San Luis, CO

Yucca harrimaniae or Harriman's Yucca. Seed was collected above San Luis, Colorado. Rosettes have stayed between 5 and 8" in diameter.  Plants have taken -22F in our garden and are subject for trial in your garden. In the wild plants have taken -30s and rarely get above freezing in winter. Has to be one of the most cold tolerant Yucca species. The plants at this location are like halfway between Yucca harrimaniae and yucca neomexicana. These have narrower leaves than the Gunnison plants.

I do not guarantee these in a zone 5/6/7 because everyones growing conditions are different but this would be a good trial plant to grow in your cold outdoor garden. Try to plant outdoor 90 days before 1st hard freeze.
